You can complete a stage in your career, but can you ever really hang it up? When I retired from Patelco, I still had plenty of steam to work on credit union issues and be part of the changes that I believe still need to happen in my lifetime. I wanted to work with some partners who were positioned to work on relevant projects and keep me involved and energized. I want to coach. I want to work with leaders and creative professionals throughout the industry who can fuel my passions with their own. (More about Ed)

For me, it has always been about networking. Finding out what people are doing, what interesting projects are underway, and working on solutions to drive our industry that are bigger than any one person or organization. I know the numbers. I love the numbers. What I needed was some partners who shared my desire to change things and make it interesting and challenging. This is a group that needs a facilitator, and I was happy to step up. I look forward to years of creative projects and a whole new set of partners. (More about Chip)

Why do I participate in MVN? The joke would be, "because Ed let me." I'm just excited to work with four industry leaders that I respect and that teach me something every time we interact. The key for me is working on projects from as many angles as possible to find new viewpoints, solutions, and partners. Today's credit union industry needs diverse talent with more than just a financial service focus. Cooperation and networking are introducing new firms, and aggregated efforts are catching the interest of all kinds of new leaders. Technology needs a business plan. It needs people who understand data. It needs people who can find talent. Most of all, it needs vision. MVN has all of the components to drive the potential of technology and our industry. I've been in and out of the credit union industry over my career. But the one constant for me has been ensuring strong executives are positioned to lead their credit unions to higher levels of service and performance. When I decided that early retirement wasn't for me, I thought about the people I like best to work with, and that led me back to the credit union industry with a special group of its leaders. My MVN partners are the kind of people who challenge you, surprise you, and will work hard to come up with solutions, not just canned approaches. I'm looking forward to working with my many associates from the past and a whole new set of credit union leaders through MVN. (More about Mark)

Roger Enrico, former CEO of PepsiCo, once stated, “ A point of view is worth 50 IQ points.” If that is indeed true, then what happens when we collect ideas, opinions, subject matter, and intellectual capital from some of the credit union industry’s best and brightest minds? Amazing things can happen… it can create revolutionary change and it can bring learning to life through rich, real experiences that elevate the organizational IQ. I believe the convergence of this intellectual firepower and visionary expertise truly differentiates MVN as a premier source for the credit union industry, and I look forward to being a part of it.
